NYS law dictates that almost all building within a municipality requires a permit.  Permits must be obtained prior to starting any construction.  Failure to do so can result in a stop work order until such permit is completed then reviewed and approved by the Code Enforce Officer.  To find the permit go to departments/code enforcement/documents then click on the Scio Building Permit.  You MUST have a building permit to construct or install any pool deeper that 18 inches.  This includes the blue inflatable pools.  Currently installed pools must also meet NYS regulations which include but not limited to fencing and electrical requirements.
