Please note that for 2012 the date of the Town Board meetings has been changed to the second Wednesday of each month unless otherwise posted.  The meetings will be held in the Town Clerks office starting at 7 PM.

New for 2012 from the NYS Open Meetings Law is a mandate to publish information prior to any meeting.  To that end, the Town Board will make every effort to put our agenda on the web site a day or two before a Town Board meeting.  Because we make changes to the agenda depending on information received prior to the meeting this agenda may change up to the meeting time.  To review the agenda go to Meetings/datestamp:Regular Town Board/Meeting Agenda. 

A new building permit application has been added to the web site as of March 6, 2012.  NYS law dictates that almost all building within a municipality requires a permit.  Permits must be obtained prior to starting any construction.  Failure to do so can result in a stop work order until such permit is completed then reviewed and approved by the Code Enforce Officer.  To find the permit go to departments/code enforcement/documents then click on the Scio Building Permit.

Also note that for 2012 there will be new regulations published for swimming pools.  You MUST have a building permit to construct or install any pool deeper that 18 inches.  This includes the blue inflatable pools.  Currently installed pools must also meet NYS regulations which include but not limited to fencing and electrical requirements.
